Meet Your Soul Yoga

Yoga is an ancient practice, but the modern world is waking up to its wisdom. Whether you are looking to improve your physical fitness, mental clarity, emotional wellbeing or general health, yoga can bring so many positive changes into your life.

But most importantly, yoga is a tool to reach within and get to know your true “self”, your soul, the essence of who you really are.

Yoga Builds Physical Strength & Agility

Yoga postures improve muscle strength and flexibility, helping you to build core, leg, back and upper body strength. Your yoga teacher will be able to tailor your routine to suit your own goals, preferences and abilities. Each pose will stretch your muscles and soft tissues, and over time this will make you more agile and improve your balance.

Many of us spend long hours sitting at a desk or in front of the TV, and this can lead to poor posture and increase the risk of musculoskeletal strain and injury. Yoga helps you to become more aware of your posture through better body alignment and breathing.

Yoga can improve sleep quality

The practice of yoga helps to regulate the autonomic nervous system, which controls our heart rate, breathing, and stress response levels. When we practise yoga, our parasympathetic nervous system is engaged and this tells the body it is safe to rest. This promotes better quality of sleep, which in turn aids healing and cell regeneration.

Yoga helps us to physically release stress from the body through repeated tension and relaxation of the muscles. Controlled breathing helps to soothe the nervous system and lower stress hormones such as cortisol. This can boost mental clarity and makes it easier to manage emotions and to solve problems or put them into perspective.

Yoga can help you to meet life goals

The philosophy of yoga encourages non-judgemental introspection, which can help us to find a higher sense of purpose in life and cut out the noise. This enables us to grow and understand ourselves and others better, helping us towards our true path in life. Yoga also teaches us the “non-attachment to any results whatsoever” and this is key to succeed in everything in life.

If you thought that yoga was just for people who are already physically active, you are mistaken. Yoga is for everyone, and even those who cannot yet perform the physical poses can benefit from breathing exercises. If you are looking for more of a physical challenge, there are many advanced movements that will test your strength and endurance.

Anyone can do yoga

Yoga can be done anywhere and anytime

You do not need a lot of space or any equipment to do yoga - just a mat and clothing that allows you to stretch. You can work with an online teacher so that no matter your routine or where you are in the world, your yoga session can fit in with your lifestyle.
